2020 Light and Shade

Dark-Light Harmony at the Light and Shade print exhibition

The Southern Printmakers Association are delighted to announce Light and Shade, an exhibition of prints by printmakers from the Southern Printmakers Association.

The title pays tribute to the technical and metaphorical expression of light and shade. The contribution of light and shade to our visual and interior world. Chiaroscuro (the use of light and shade to give dimension and form, to create drama and to create balance) and notan meaning dark-light harmony, are richly expressed in some works while others adopt a playful interpretation of the theme.

The exhibition includes the work of: Lorraine Avery, Vivian Berney, Jan Schuster-Callus, Rosalie Duligal, Christine Druitt-Preston, Julie Holohan, Kathy Hoyt, Don Kibble, Nicole Lowe, Georgia Lambropoulos, Sharon Langhans, Dior Mahnken, Vivian Messimeris, Stephanie McCready, Sol Pandiella-McLeod, Kim Whitbread, Laura Stark, Max Samways and  Julianne Smart.

Created works covere the variety of printmaking techniques: linocut, etching, silkscreen, collograph, waterless lithography and photoplymer.
