The Southern Printmakers Association was founded in 1978 to provide a way for local printmakers to meet, exchange views, increase their knowledge of specialist techniques and arrange exhibition of their works. Since the association’s inception we have not only exhibited in Sydney but also in Japan, South Australia and Queensland.
In 1995 we were a driving force for the need for a working and exhibition space for the arts within the Sutherland Shire. This was to include a gallery space, community exhibition areas and workshop teaching facilities. Lending our support to such a facility contributed to the construction of the Hazelhurst Grounds into the Regional Gallery & Art Centre in Gymea. Studio 6 at Hazelhurst is dedicated to printmaking and is available to our association and its members.
Today we continue to explore printmaking processes, push boundaries and learn new techniques. Members come together regularly to support, inspire, create, collaborate and exhibit our artworks.
Our group is inclusive of most levels of printmaking. If you are interested in applying to become a member Click here
