I have had an interest in creating art since I was very young. Principally self taught, I did part time study at what is now the National Art School, where I studied drawing and painting. My favourite mediums are watercolour, pastel and gouache.
After seeing examples of printmaking, and attending exhibitions, I was intrigued by the different processes and the beautiful results that can be achieved, and I have now been printing at Hazelhurst Arts Centre for several years.
I love printmaking in all its forms and enjoy drypoint etching, collagraphs and reduction lino prints. I particularly like the effects achieved with solar plate etching.
I worked as a graphic designer with Qantas for 27 years, and I think this training shows up in my work today. I am retired and enjoy spending as much time as I can pursuing my art.
