Fran Caruana

Wanting​ ​to​ ​delve​ ​deeper​ ​into​ ​creative​ ​expression,​ ​twelve​ ​years​ ​ago​ ​I​ ​completed​ ​my​ ​Advanced Diploma​ ​of​ ​Fine​ ​Arts,​ ​majoring​ ​in​ ​printmaking.

I​ ​was​ ​immediately​ ​drawn​ ​to​ ​the​ ​approach​ ​and​ ​experimentation​ ​that​ ​can​ ​be​ ​achieved​ ​through​ ​the many​ ​facets​ ​of​ ​printmaking.​ ​Within​ ​my​ ​practice​ ​I​ ​have​ ​worked​ ​with​ ​etching,​ ​solar​ ​plates, collagraphs​,​ ​lino​ ​printing,​ ​etched​ ​lino​ ​and​ ​digital​ ​media.​ ​I​ ​enjoy​ ​the​ ​possibilities​ ​available​ ​to​ ​me through​ ​the​ ​use​ ​of​ ​layering​ ​and​ ​implementation​ ​of​ ​natural​ ​materials.

Art​ ​is​ ​a​ ​part​ ​of​ ​my​ ​everyday​ ​life,​ ​everywhere​ ​I​ ​look​ ​I​ ​see​ ​beauty​ ​and​ ​potential​ ​within​ ​both​ ​natural beauty and ​mundane​ ​objects​ ​and​ ​this​ ​is​ ​reflected​ ​in​ ​my​ ​artworks.
